Job description

The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (CiTi BOCES) is seeking individuals who are flexible, creative, innovative, who think fluidly in a dynamic work environment, and will work to provide unique learning opportunities for students. Candidates must have strong instructional technology skills and be well versed in virtual learning.

CiTi BOCES seeks a full time Distance Learning Specialist who has a strong background in instructional technology in the classroom as a teacher or as a technology coach. The Distance Learning Specialist would join a team dedicated to the evolving needs of virtual learning via interactive videoconferencing in school districts. The position will focus on supporting an interactive videoconferencing service for districts in the Oswego County Area. Interactive videoconferencing courses are shared amongst districts and with local community colleges. The Distance Learning Specialist will be in districts working with staff, students, and the local community colleges.

Responsibilities
  • Support an interactive videoconferencing service for districts.
  • Provide training and support for distance learning teachers and facilitators.
  • Facilitate a network of distance learning facilitators from each school.
  • Work in an early college high school environment, supporting students and monitoring progress.
  • Collaborate with other distance learning programs across the state.
  • Plan and provide virtual field trips and class to class collaborations in classrooms.
  • Support distance learning equipment and infrastructure.

Applicants must hold a New York State Teacher Certification and possess strong instructional technology skills.
