You as a VDC Manager will:
  • Support a team that plans, coordinates, and implements VDC processes utilizing appropriate technology platforms through project life cycle
  • Develop and manage BIM Execution Plan and Project specific VDC implementation strategy
  • Understand the owner BIM / Employers Information Requirements (EIR) and use a custom suite of software tools to prepare model-based deliverables
  • Work with Project Management team to develop BIM specific scope of work in tender documents
  • Have the freedom and creativity to develop project specific workflows that utilize BIM data for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling (4D), coordination, field layout, and facilitates management
  • Develop solutions with the project stakeholders by performing model-based design and constructability review, clash detection and visualization
  • Oversee BIM coordination meetings with designers, trades, and suppliers
  • Work closely with the field team using the intelligent building models to track the progress on site and contribute on the overall project schedule
  • Facilitate reality capture, utilizing LiDAR, Drones and 360 Photography for model integration, QA/QC, analysis, and visualization
  • Collaborate with IT to equip staff with proper hardware and software tools for projects
  • Assist and support the pre-construction team's use of BIM/VDC for project pursuits, estimating and 4D planning
  • Help project teams navigate the expanding world of construction technology by teaching and mentoring them as they learn new software and workflows
  • Participate in software testing, R&D initiatives and continue personal and professional growth
  • Be a part of the internal VDC community to build on EllisDon's rich history of innovation as leaders in the construction industry and report to regional VDC Leadership
  • Participate in the planning and execution of budget and schedule of VDC scope for the project
  • Manage and Support VDC Team while encouraging professional development of coordinators within your team
  • Oversee the progress of the Project BIM deliverables and report on key metrics
  • Practice and promote safe work environment and EllisDon Safety culture
Is this the right role for you?
  • University degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, M&E or related field
  • 7 or more years of professional experience with focus on BIM Management, Modeling, and related technology
  • Relevant experience in engineering and/or construction fields, including document production and M&E coordination works
  • Experience leading a VDC team in a project environment
  • Advanced experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks is required.
  • Experience with Revizto, Assemble, Synchro Pro, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam
  • Passionate about the construction industry and innovation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent organization, time management skills and attention to detail
  • BIM-related training or certifications considered an asset (Building Transformations, BuildingSMART)
  • RPAS (Drone) Operator Certification (Or the ability to achieve)
  • Self-motivated, passionate, innovative, and creative
  • Experience developing technical information and presentation material
  • Ability to interact with external entities (clients, owners, agencies) to interpret and understand desired BIM or CAD delivery requirements.
