Course code and title:

EDEE 355-004. Classroom-based Evaluation.

Description:The role of evaluation within kindergarten/elementary school programs. Topics include the kinds of information needed, different techniques for collecting that information, and ways of interpreting it to make educational decisions. Principles and a variety of methods for evaluation are discussed and practiced.

This course is not Team taught or offered online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):

Education:

1. Master's degree (In exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master's degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered).

2. Teaching degree or equivalent.

Experience:

1. Experience teaching in elementary schools.

2. Expert knowledge of assessment and evaluation pedagogy in elementary schools.

3. Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP).

4. Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministere de l'Education..

5. Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system an asset.

6. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset.

7. Familiarity with myCourses and Zoom or similar online course and meeting platforms an asset.

Other:

1. Commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors.

2. Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of course start date.

This course is taught in French. A high level of proficiency in French and ability to teach in French are required.
