TDC Specialty provides specialized insurance programs to healthcare providers, institutions, and organizations, primarily on an Excess & Surplus lines basis.  More specifically, TDC Specialty offers professional, management and products liability insurance and services to hospitals, long term care facilities, non-hospital medical facilities, E&S physician groups, managed care organizations and life sciences companies.  TDC Specialty is a member of The Doctors Company Group.  Admitted capability is also offered where applicable to market need.  

TDC Specialty is seeking a Business Development Operations Coordinator to provide administrative, organizational, and operational support to the SVP, Business Development and the broader business development team. This entry-level role is ideal for a highly organized professional who is interested in supporting executive priorities, coordinating business development activities, and helping the team operate efficiently. This is a hybrid position in Unionville, CT.

Responsibilities:

Working under the general supervision of the SVP, Business Development and acting within authority appropriate to this position, the Business Development Operations Coordinator is expected to:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the SVP, Business Development and the business development team, including calendar coordination, meeting scheduling, travel arrangements, expense support, and preparation of correspondence.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, assemble presentation materials, capture notes, and track follow-up items to help ensure timely execution of business development priorities.
  • Maintain and update business development reports, contact lists, CRM records, pipeline trackers, and other operational tools with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with the preparation, formatting, and distribution of presentations, proposals, meeting materials, and other business development communications.
  • Support conference, event, and client meeting logistics by researching and recommending restaurants, and venues and event locations for targeted efforts in various cities; coordinating travel, registrations, hotel and restaurant reservations; shipping materials; and managing post-event follow-up.
  • Process invoices, manage files, organize shared materials, and help maintain efficient administrative and operational workflows for the department.
  • Communicate professionally with internal partners and external contacts, including brokers, vendors, and industry organizations, to support business development initiatives and scheduling needs.
  • Conduct basic market and prospect research, compile information for leadership review, and help organize insights that support outreach and business development planning.
  • Monitor deadlines, keep projects and deliverables organized, and follow through on routine action items to help the team stay on track.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by supporting special projects and assisting with additional administrative or operational needs as assigned.

Requirements:

1+ years of experience in an administrative, coordinator, operations support, business support, or related role preferred. Strong internship or office support experience may also be considered.

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Insurance experience is a plus but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required, and experience with CRM tools is helpful.
