Goshen Therapeutic Services, a division of Goshen Valley Foundation, is a community-based social service organization that provides services for families involved with DFCS as well as in the community.
Responsibilities expected for Mental Health Therapist:
  • Upon receiving a referral, make collateral calls to the referring agency and review all documentation and notes pertaining to the family or individual's history, diagnosis, and case plan.
  • The therapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and support children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, behavioral challenges, and emotional difficulties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise in child and adolescent mental health, and possess a strong commitment to helping children and their families heal and thrive.
  • Work closely with other clinical staff, caregivers, and DFCS case managers to coordinate care for children.
  • Submit monthly summaries on the client's progress or lack thereof.
  • Therapist will provide individual counseling services, conduct trauma assessments, and create and maintain treatment plans. You may be asked to provide family counseling as well.
  • Provide trauma-informed therapies, such as Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
  • Attend court hearings or case panel hearings to testify as requested by attorneys and DFCS.
  • Track insurance units and dates of service outlined on the service authorization.
  • Document all services in Electronic Health records.
  • Attend quarterly contractor meetings and trainings to receive updates regarding policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with required DFCS and Goshen Valley Foundation trainings.

Additionally, we are looking for someone who shows:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective priority, and time management
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus as we serve many in this demographic bracket.
Job Type: Contract status, Part-Time up to Full-Time depending on schedule worked.
$30-$48/ Counseling.

Requirements
Mental Health Therapist will be expected to have:
  • Master's degree in community counseling or related field. (Social Work, Community Mental Health, Marriage and Family Therapy).
  • Must demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills to provide assessment and clinical services.
  • Must practice by the ethical standards of the professional association and state licensing board.
  • Must submit a valid and official transcript showing proof of degree awarded.
  • Valid Driver's License with good driving record and proof of insurance meeting required 100/300/100 liability coverage, and be insurable by GVF's auto insurance carrier.
  • Be of good character, and supportive of the programs, policies, and ideals of Goshen Valley Foundation.
  • Complete and pass a criminal background check (DHS OIG) and other safety screenings and drug screen.
  • Must have access to a computer and telephone to contact clients and document services provided.
