Global Tax Services Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Global Tax Services Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in New York, New York.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of transactional tax experience to join a nationally recognized tax practice advising clients on sophisticated domestic and international transactions, including private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, fund formations, and complex tax structuring matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on the federal, state, and international tax aspects of complex business transactions.

  • Structure and negotiate tax-efficient solutions for private equity transactions, public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and fund formations.

  • Counsel clients on domestic and international tax planning and transaction structuring.

  • Assist with investment fund transactions and other strategic corporate initiatives.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, finance, private equity, and investment funds practices to deliver integrated legal and tax solutions.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

  • 3–5 years of transactional tax experience at a law firm.

  • Experience advising on private equity transactions, public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and fund formations.

  • Experience with domestic and international tax structuring and planning is required.

  • Strong analytical, drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
