Tavi information

What is a Tavi?

Tavi, often referred to as TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation), are minimally invasive procedures used to replace a diseased aortic valve in the heart without open-heart surgery. TAVI is typically recommended for patients with severe aortic stenosis who are at high risk for conventional surgery. The procedure involves inserting a new valve via a catheter, usually through the femoral artery, allowing for quicker recovery and reduced complications compared to traditional surgery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a TAVI specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a TAVI Specialist, you need extensive knowledge of interventional cardiology, procedural techniques, and a relevant medical degree with board certification in cardiology. Familiarity with advanced imaging systems, catheterization lab equipment, and specific training or certification in TAVI procedures is typically required. Excellent decision-making, teamwork, and communication skills are crucial for coordinating complex care and ensuring patient safety. These competencies enable successful outcomes in high-risk cardiac interventions and foster effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.

What is the difference between Tavi vs Orthopedic Surgeon?
