Level: Journeyman  |  Work Location: Remote

ABOUT THE ROLE
Red Carrot is seeking a Journeyman Initiative Support specialist to serve as key personnel on a federal information literacy initiative. This role provides research, content, and subject matter expert coordination support across the initiative's website, taskforce, and communications work streams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect and assess suggested website content from the public, taskforce members, subject matter experts, and grantees against customer-provided criteria
  • Distribute periodic requests to taskforce members and subject matter experts for new information and resources
  • Perform environmental scans and monitor literature for emerging issues relevant to web content and messaging
  • Coordinate outreach to existing taskforce members and support recruitment of new subject matter experts
  • Support development of wireframes, mock-ups, and content recommendations to maintain website usability and effectiveness
  • Draft communications content, technical assistance tool updates, and social media campaign materials
  • Support development of taskforce engagement plans and materials, including member guides
  • Assist with drafting and revising presentations and written materials for professional and political audiences
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated experience engaging museums, libraries, and community-based organizations, including how they partner with other organizations
  • Demonstrated experience with lifelong learning programming, including engaging marginalized groups or audiences skeptical of nonprofits and public institutions
  • Experience in information, media, or digital literacy research or strategy preferred
  • Background in social science (e.g., sociology, education, cultural competence) or qualitative research methodologies preferred
  • Strong research, writing, and stakeholder coordination skills
