Job description

Ocean Spray is hiring for a(n) Workforce Staffing Specialist! We're a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers. Whatever your title, whatever your role - it always comes back to this: we're a farmer-owned co-op where everyone rolls up their sleeves to get the job done. Three maverick farmers started it all - and we've been making our own way ever since.The Workforce Staffing Specialist will be responsible for managing team member staffing for the assigned plant. You will develop adaptable staff schedules, implement necessary adjustments, and utilize operating systems to ensure timely communication for proper staffing.
You will collaborate with HR and hiring teams to employ best staffing practices to contribute to the optimal performance of the plant operations. Additionally, you will assist onboarding, payroll, and communications activities for the plant.

A Day in the Life...

Manage workforce staffing and create scheduling solutions by completing complex schedules and making appropriate adjustments based on business needs, time off requests, daily callouts and/or known leave of absences. Complete all hourly internal transfers, promotions, and/or job change transactions, ensuring compliance with any identified collective bargaining agreement or similar process for non-union locations. Interact with Recruiters, Hiring Managers, Human Resources and/or other functional leaders to determine best staffing approach to ensure successful operations by placing the right team members into the right positions at the right time. Build collaborative relationships with departments and hourly employees ensuring proper and timely communications are provided. Navigate multiple operating systems, including but not limited to staffing applications, applicant tracking modules, text alert systems etc. Assist in the facilitation of onboarding new team members through ownership of Workday training and enrollment to timekeeping system. Be the subject matter expert on Workforce Management software and processes that are in place to support staffing and payroll activities. Assist managers and supervisors in maintaining daily attendance and call logs accurately and ensuring compliance to absence programs and policies. Conduct and assist in operational audits to manage established controls and measurements within an identified department. May assist in the tracking and documentation of SKA's through the use of position qualifications or competency programs/matrixes. Utilize and maintain various computer systems to track, record, generate, format, and distribute operational reports. Supports and promotes food safety and quality program initiatives within the plant environment. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
