Job description

Overview

The Seasonal Sales Associate is responsible for delivering Best of the WEST customer service by building relationships with customers and helping them find products that meet their needs. They maintain product knowledge, use effective selling techniques, and contribute to achieving store sales goals while creating an exceptional shopping experience. Sales Associates help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store while supporting daily store operations and following company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities    

  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and support the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Deliver Best of the WEST customer service by greeting every customer, engaging with them throughout their shopping experience, and thanking them for their business.
  • Build customer relationships by identifying needs, recommending products, and providing knowledgeable, personalized service.
  • Use effective selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a customer-first approach.
  • Maintain knowledge of merchandise, promotions, company programs, and current Western and workwear trends.
  • Assist customers with product selection, special orders, and locating merchandise throughout the store.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor by stocking merchandise, recovering displays, and completing housekeeping tasks, including dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, signed, stocked, and located according to company standards.
  • Remain attentive to store safety and security and promptly report concerns to store management.
  • Report to work on time and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
  • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with merchandising updates, price changes, inventory projects, and other assigned store tasks.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and build customer relationships in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to effectively sell merchandise while achieving individual and store performance goals.
  • Ability to regularly lift, move, and position merchandise throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to safely use store equipment, including handheld devices, step stools, and dollies, in accordance with company policies. Certain equipment may only be operated by associates who meet applicable age requirements.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the business.
  • Ability to comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents, and apply them to daily tasks.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Associate must be able to read and understand English.
  • Associate must be able to stay alert and productive during assigned work hours.
