BUILDING AIDE
The Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of part-time Building Aide starting immediately.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Building Aide. As a Building Aide, you will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of children. Your primary role will be to facilitate a positive and engaging play environment while maintaining a focus on safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and supervise children during playground activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Encourage and promote positive social interactions among children.
  • Enforce rules and guidelines to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Assist children with basic needs, such as using restroom facilities and obtaining first aid if necessary.
  • Communicate with administration regarding any concerns or incidents that may arise.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.

Working Hours and Compensation: This position is part-time, 13 hours per week. and may involve flexible hours, depending on the specific needs of the building. Hours generally fall between 10:30 - 1:00 pm. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:
  • Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner.
  • Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.
  • Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.
  • Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook

Other Requirements: Applicants must possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance.
The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.
