Today, it is essential for every business and municipality to have a "go-to" vendor for environmental solutions, from industrial cleaning services to emergency response services, to hazardous waste transportation and box rentals. We are hiring a Wash Technician. At TAS Environmental Services, LP, the Wash Technician will assist in the day-to-day operations to include emergency response, cleaning of equipment, inventory of supplies and assets, and industrial tank cleaning. Potential for dirty and physically demanding work environment along with strenuous physical labor. The Wash Technician is responsible for safely and effectively cleaning containers that are used to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines and Company safety procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely and effectively prepare, clean, and inspect containers and ancillary equipment in accordance with established methods and applicable regulations
  • Manually clean, install, fit, and repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets and other and equipment
  • Operate all necessary cleaning equipment such as high-pressure pumps, air electrical and/or mechanical equipment including hot and/or cold air blow drying systems, in accordance with operation training and guidelines and safety procedures
  • Maintain equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance to maximize production
  • Sweep and shovel waste into drums for proper disposal
  • May operate appropriate equipment to move containers around the facility as requested
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Observe all safety and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and properly use equipment
  • Maintain open communication with team members and leadership
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), desired but not required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Industrial, tank cleaning, or similar work experience
  • Must be able to meet criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Class C (Texas) or equivalent required

Competencies:

  • Demonstrate the ability to safely operate equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents, Standard Operating Procedures, and SDS sheets
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet deadlines or ensure that daily work is completed

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • HAZWOPER and Confined Space certifications preferred

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Ability to wear Personal Equipment, including Respiratory Protection which requires the employee to be clean shaven throughout the duration of employment with TAS Environmental Services LP. Consist of both office setting and physical jobsite. Able to work in confined spaces when needed.
