Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is looking for an experienced Senior Trade Compliance Manager to support U.S. and Canada operations with a broad range of import and export compliance matters. You will interact with AWS teams including Operations, Brokerage, Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Tax, and other internal businesses and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance initiatives.
This position will report to the North America (NAM) Regional Trade Compliance Manager within the Global Trade and Product Compliance (GPTC) organization for AWS.
Key job responsibilities
- Monitor import/export regulatory or procedural changes that could impact planning for cross border related requirements in the NAM region, and clearly communicate those guidelines to stakeholders during the export/import planning process
- Engage in Country Due diligence gathering informing key stakeholders of requirements to a specific country/region.
- Establish and manage positive business relations with key stakeholders and business teams.
- Manage daily tasks related to providing import/export compliance guidance in NAM markets to support AWS trade activities, including conducting research, updating status reports, engaging with 3rd-party service providers/vendors, and coordinating team deliverables.
- Assist with technology, hardware, and software trade classification, including: Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
- Support tariff mitigation plans and build system requirements
- Interface with internal and external functional partners to identify and rectify any information/process gaps
- Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures
- Build communications and training plans to ensure all internal and external partners are aware and aligned to trade compliance processes
- Generate and contribute to performance requirements, timelines, and metrics for all related activities
- Proactively identify and drive process improvement initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of related industry experience (import/export compliance environment)
- 8+ years of Trade Compliance experience related to U.S. and Canada trade Regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Trade Compliance and/or Supply Chain industry, i.e. as customs agent/officer, compliance specialist, or customs operations
- Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Have experience performing trade classifications (HTS codes, ECCNs, and Country of Origin)
- Have experience with Tariff Management & Mitigation processes
- Experience implementing and managing Duty Drawback programs
- Experience in implementing, upgrading, or scaling a Global Trade Management (GTM) system

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
