Tariff Classification Managers are professionals responsible for ensuring that goods are accurately classified under the correct tariff codes for customs and trade compliance. Their expertise helps companies determine the appropriate customs duties, taxes, and regulatory requirements when importing or exporting goods. They interpret complex tariff schedules, maintain compliance with international trade laws, and often coordinate with customs authorities to resolve classification disputes. This role is crucial for minimizing costs and avoiding legal issues related to incorrect tariff classifications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a tariff classification manager?

To thrive as a Tariff Classification Manager, you need deep knowledge of customs regulations, international trade laws, and the Harmonized System (HS) of tariff classification, often supported by a degree in international trade, logistics, or a related field.
