Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop Training materials as needed.

Develop Vignettes and Scenarios.

Develop and administer training on the use of designated simulations.

Develop force structure and manning requirements for experiments.

Perform validation through testing and evaluation of models presented within the simulation.

Assist analysts and ORSAs in writing final reports for experiments: develop insights, findings, observations, and recommendations.

Assist in experiment design and methodology for the collection of data for Fires Battle Lab experiments.

Develop and distribute surveys and questionnaires for new concepts and capabilities; develop insights, findings, observations and provide recommendations based on the results of these.

Review concept documents and provide feedback when directed.

Attend all planning meetings for designated experiments.

Provide a Road to War brief for experiments.

Provide written evaluations of simulation models to software engineers describing the accuracy of artillery modeling in the simulation.

Provide written recommendations for force structure/manning requirements to ensure accurate execution of the experiment.

Complete Software Change Requests for simulation software prior to an experiment.

Provide EXSUMS for all experiments, planning meetings, IPRs, Rehearsals of Concept (ROC), and working groups.

Develop a knowledge base on future Field Artillery capabilities and limitations. This includes, but is not limited to weapons, munitions, formations, sensors, and Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) such as AFATDS, JADOCS, etc.

Provide support across the community of practice where Field Artillery equities are represented.

Assist in the development of learning demands and study issues for each experiment.


Minimum Qualifications

-Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum of one year’s Field Artillery Battalion (FA) BN or higher Operations Officer or Executive Officer experience which can be substituted with targeting experience at Brigade level or higher.

-Be able to write reports and EXSUMS generally free of grammatical errors.

-Be able to attain and maintain a military driver’s license.

-Become RSO and CLS certified within 90 days of contract award, maintain RSO and CLS certification.

-Ability to obtain a security clearance up to Top Secret.
