Senior Director of Logistics

Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Vice President of Logistics, leading and optimizing all transportation, logistics, scheduling, and distribution activities across multiple manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.
- Providing strategic leadership to a team of three Regional Logistics Managers and being accountable for delivering best‑in‑class performance in cost, service, safety, and shipment execution.
- Working closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer commitments are achieved while maintaining efficient, safe, and cost‑effective logistics operations.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, network optimization, carrier strategy, and operational excellence across the organization.
- Creating and maintaining all departmental reporting including freight budgets, monthly and quarterly KPIs, carrier performance scorecards, and ad‑hoc reporting/analysis.
- Developing reports for other Logistics Managers to facilitate constant access to freight costs and KPIs.
- Coordinating with Logistics Managers and the Director to ensure all carrier strategies are executed at the Logistics Dispatcher level.
- Ensuring carrier compliance with all customer service requirements and standardizing all internal operating procedures.
- Leading all new acquisition integration for Logistics, including integration of carriers to Zekelman standards, contracts, rate negotiations, and employee and carrier training for all systems.
- Traveling within the US and Canada as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited post‑secondary school.
- Previous experience in Logistics is preferred.
- Previous work with a large flatbed shipper is preferred.
- Very detail oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills and multi‑tasking capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and highly stressful environment at times.
- Previous experience with a Transportation Management System is a bonus.
- Ability to work within a team and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel when required for training purposes.
Compensation & Benefits
The target compensation for this role is $160,000 - $185,000 plus bonus.
