POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) is currently accepting applications for a Barge Cleaner to work within its Marine Repair Facility (MRF) in Catlettsburg, KY. Barge Cleaners are critical members of the MRF, and we are looking for individuals who can contribute to our inclusive work environment. This position is shift-work, subject to call-outs, work in inclement weather, and overtime as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strip product heels from tank barge

  • Strip bilges from boats and barges

  • Transfer product from vessel to vessel and vessel to onshore tanks

  • Operate dock equipment, vacuum pumps, transfer pumps, blowers, meters, hoses, etc.

  • The individual must be able to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces such as tank barge compartments, towboat ballast tanks, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card required.

  • Prior experience working in a commercial marine environment is preferred.

  • An associate's degree in applied process technology or similar degree is preferred.

  • Must be able to pass a preemployment written test, hands on test, drug test, and background check.
