To thrive as a Tank Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker and often hazardous materials (HazMat) endorsements, along with a strong understanding of vehicle operation and safety regulations. Familiarity with GPS navigation, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and tank inspection protocols is typically required. Tank drivers often encounter challenges such as navigating large vehicles in tight or congested areas, adhering to strict safety protocols when transporting hazardous materials, and managing long hours on the road.
