Job description

Tanium Engineer

| Full-Time | Remote | Secret Clearance

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tanium Engineer to architect, optimize, and drive advanced use of the Tanium platform within a mission-driven defense agency. As a technical leader, you will oversee Tanium’s integration across complex environments to deliver high-impact compliance, security, and operations outcomes—all within Agile project teams using Jira. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of hands-on Tanium experience, as well as on-prem/cloud experience. Oracle cloud experience strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tanium Architecture & Engineering: Design, implement, and optimize Tanium infrastructure and modules (Asset, Deploy, Comply, Patch, Discover, etc.) for large, distributed environments.
  • Compliance & Security Leadership: Lead the use of Tanium for continuous compliance monitoring and reporting (STIGs, NIST, FISMA/RMF), developing custom queries and automation as needed.
  • Process Automation & Integration: Develop scripts, integrations, and custom modules to automate compliance, remediation, and reporting workflows.
  • Technical Guidance & Mentoring: Mentor junior team members, conduct code/review sessions, and deliver knowledge transfer and training.
  • Agile Team Leadership: Act as a senior contributor within Agile teams, collaborating on sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Jira management.
  • Incident Response: Advise and support major incident and vulnerability response leveraging Tanium’s capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with cybersecurity, IT, and compliance teams to refine system strategy, requirements, and success metrics.
