CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months

Overview:
The Software Engineer II will provide designs and specify information systems solutions, delivering highly technical direction in the development of both new and existing applications. This role is crucial for addressing basic to complex problems and enhancements, ensuring solutions are technologically sound. The ideal candidate will serve as a principal application designer for major modifications, utilizing analytical and technical skills to evaluate client requirements and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and complete systems analysis, design, and development for projects of varying complexity.
  • Act as a key individual contributor on complex projects, maintaining a strong functional understanding of supported applications.
  • Direct and mentor less experienced resources, coordinating development tasks for projects ranging from small to large scope.
  • Prepare and manage the technical components of project plans.
  • Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology teams throughout the systems development lifecycle, from technical analysis to user acceptance testing.
  • Prepare and execute detailed test plans, including debugging as necessary.
  • Analyze and understand complex interrelationships among programs, applications, and platforms.
  • Provide consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new information technologies to meet business objectives.
  • Prepare and review thorough technical and functional specifications, as well as systems documentation.
  • Maintain effective operation and performance of supported applications and recommend new technologies, policies, or processes for improvement.
  • Adhere to and promote development standards and procedures.
  • Understand and comply with the Company's risk and regulatory standards, identifying issues that require escalation to management.

Scope of Responsibilities:
This position operates under the supervision of the Technology Team Lead, with the competence to work independently on high-level systems analysis and technical phases of development. The role includes managing activities of others on a project basis and monitoring performance on assigned projects. The job holder will interact with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors, providing backup to higher management as needed.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Direct and monitor the activities of less experienced personnel.
  • Provide guidance on project activities and performance evaluations.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years in systems analysis/application development.
  • ServiceNow Developer or Administrator certification is a must.
  • ServiceNow Implementation Certification is a must.
  • Sr. ServiceNow Developer (VR/CC – SecOps).
  • ServiceNow Development and Administration of Vulnerability Response (VR) and Configuration Compliance (CC) modules.
  • Providing architectural, design, configuration/development and operational support for VR and CC.
  • Prepare and conduct VR and CC and related dependencies updates.
  • Provide ServiceNow functional and process expertise in building world class programs.
  • Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and relevant project management, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in presenting to target audiences.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Good understanding of the Bank's application framework.
  • ServiceNow SecOps implementation certificate is desired but not needed.
  • Subject matter expert in business with experience utilizing the supported application/system.
  • Advanced knowledge of applications and integrated systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as autonomously.
  • Proven experience in multitasking and managing complex project components.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
