Who We Are Looking For:ย 
Phoenix Tailings is looking for a Controls Engineer II to help design, build, and scale the automation systems that power our manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who is comfortable both programming and wiring industrial control systems. The ideal candidate has experience with Ignition SCADA, enjoys working directly with hardware, and has helped stand up large industrial systems in real operating environments. You will play a key role in commissioning new equipment and stabilizing production as we scale.ย

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, andย maintainย PLC and SCADA systems for industrial manufacturing equipmentย 
  • Build and configure Ignition SCADA applications including HMIs, alarms, trends, and data historiansย 
  • Perform hands-on panel wiring, field wiring, and I/O checkout for industrial control systemsย 
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of large-scale manufacturing systemsย 
  • Integrate sensors, instrumentation, VFDs, heaters, and other industrial devices into control systemsย 
  • Troubleshoot control and electrical issues on operating equipment and implement permanent fixesย 
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams to ensure reliable system performanceย 
  • Develop andย maintainย clear documentation including control narratives, I/O lists, and as-built drawingsย 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical fieldย 
  • 3-6 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineeringย 
  • Hands-on experience with Ignitionย ย 
  • Experience programming PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)ย 
  • Comfortable performing hands-on panel and field wiring for industrial systemsย 
  • Experience commissioning and supporting large industrial or manufacturing equipmentย 
  • Strong understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation, and control system best practicesย 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, startup manufacturing environmentย

  • This pay range reflects best estimate for the total cash compensation which includes salary + discretionary bonus for this role. Total packageย  may vary based on experience and qualifications.
    Pay Range: $90,000- $130,000 total cash compensation plus equity
