Job description

Tahoe Donner Association is looking for Bicycle Mechanics to join our Bikeworks Team! The Bicycle Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of our fleet of rental bicycles and repair of customer bicycles. The Bicycle Mechanic is also responsible for properly sizing and renting adult and children's bicycles, as well as assisting with guided rides, equipment and accessory sales, special events, races and other activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides excellent customer service to members, guests, general public, and employees.
  2. Properly fit guests on rental equipment, teach them about the various parts of the bike, complete all required paperwork, and inform them about local riding locations and options.
  3. Assist with area set up, races, promotions and special events.
  4. Develop and maintain current knowledge of basic bicycle maintenance and repair techniques.
  5. Assist with guided rides around the local area as needed.
  6. Assists with maintenance and cleanliness of the bicycle program areas.
  7. Occasionally operate a POS system. (RTP) and balance daily sales to deposit amount.

We are looking for the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and "People" skills; Must love dealing with people.
  • Complete mechanical knowledge about the maintenance and repair of all types of bicycles
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications are recommended.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through three to six months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
