Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Tactical Communications Instructor you willprovide training on SOF specific Tactical radios and communications systems, Medium Data Rate Terminal (MDRT) baseband packages and other site-specific related network and systems infrastructure, while working in conjunction with the Tactical Enterprise Network service providers as required. The position will also provide planning, configuration, operation, maintenance, and documentation related to MDRT baseband systems and associated equipment. Manage and track RF radio systems firmware upgrades, Integrate RF systems into the Tactical Mission Network from multiple spectrums, and incorporate C2 options for training, exercise, and deployment use.

What Youll Need to Succeed:

Education:

  • Associates Degree in a related field

  • DOD 8570 IAT level II required

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Instructing experience

Required Technical Skills:

  • Must closely follow network protocols and methodology.

  • Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve complex problem.

  • Work at a high technical level on all phases of network operations

  • With a wide range of knowledge, evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes and sets standards.

  • Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems.

  • Provides client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities.

  • Plans and coordinates computer network initiatives.

  • Researches, evaluates and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies.

  • Devises solutions to operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.

  • Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, company management and departmental clients.

  • Works with other network professionals as directed to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.

Security Clearance Level:

  • TS/SCI (Required)

Required Skills and abilities:

  • Good communications skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through.

  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments

  • SOF experience, 18E or similar experience

Travel:

  • Travel will be CONUS approximately 50% or the time

Location:

  • On Customer Site

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
