FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Pay: $19.10 - $24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:
Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.
Responsibilities:
  • Navigates and drives ambulance to and from scenes and treatment centers. Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
  • Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources. Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
  • Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
  • Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Current State Licensure as an EMT.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Current and Active National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification within 1 year of hire.
  • IV course completion certificate required upon hire.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
