This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
Overview:
The Tacker is responsible for tacking fabricated pipe in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform tack welding on fabricated pipe in accordance with approved procedures and project specifications
  • Verify project number and base material prior to beginning work
  • Identify, obtain, and sign out the correct filler materials based on job requirements
  • Ensure all tacks meet or exceed minimum quality and qualification standards
  • Assist with moving pipe spools to and from work areas following shop safety guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Work collaboratively with all shop personnel and supervision to meet production schedules and quality expectations
  • Comply with all Company Core Safety Rules, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fabrication or welding environment
  • Working knowledge of welding processes, materials, and equipment related to pipe fabrication
  • Ability to read and follow job instructions and welding procedures
  • Ability to work extended hours, including 10-hour shifts and overtime as required
  • Physically capable of standing for extended periods, as well as bending, kneeling, and squatting throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted
