We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior BI/Tableau Report Developer to join our data team, specializing in the Media and Entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience developing advanced, performance-optimized Tableau solutions. This role is crucial for transforming complex media data—including audience consumption, advertising performance, content performance, and subscription metrics—into clear, actionable dashboards that drive content, distribution, and revenue strategies. You will be a technical leader, setting visualization standards and providing mentorship across the analytics function.

Responsibilities

  • Media Data Visualization Leadership:
  • Lead the entire lifecycle (design, development, testing, and deployment) of complex Tableau dashboards, focusing on key media metrics like subscriber churn, ad impressions, video views, content watch time, audience demographics, and campaign ROI.
  • Translate advanced analytical models (e.g., attribution, predictive content scoring) into intuitive, high-impact visualizations for executive and operational users.
  • Establish best-in-class visualization standards tailored for media data consumption, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting (e.g., Nielsen standards, privacy compliance).

Data Strategy & Technical Excellence:

  • Utilize 10 years of BI experience to architect scalable and highly efficient Tableau data sources, optimizing for query performance against large datasets from various media platforms.
  • Collaborate extensively with Data Engineers and Scientists to define and refine data models (e.g., star schemas in Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery) to ensure optimal structure for media reporting.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for advanced Tableau functionalities, including complex LOD expressions, sophisticated data blending, dynamic parameters, and performance tuning for 100 million row datasets.
  • Stakeholder Management & Mentorship:
  • Partner directly with Advertising Sales, Marketing, Content Strategy, and Finance teams to elicit and document precise reporting requirements and KPIs.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers on data storytelling, dashboard design principles, SQL optimization, and adherence to BI governance policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence development, with at least 5 years dedicated to Tableau in an enterprise environment.
  • Industry Focus: Deep, demonstrable experience in the Media, Entertainment, Publishing, or Ad-Tech industries, with a strong understanding of core media metrics.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Expert proficiency in all facets of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud administration and governance.
  • Exceptional command of Advanced SQL for complex data querying, ETL processes, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience working with large-scale cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or AWS Redshift).

  • Comfortable with designing, building and supporting a BI Portal environment using Apache tomcat, PHP and JavaScript.
