Job description

The Flexera Platform Engineer is responsible for engineering, administering, and optimizing the enterprise Flexera platform ecosystem supporting software asset management, hardware asset management, discovery, compliance, reporting, and lifecycle operations.

This role serves as the organization's technical expert for Flexera and related asset management technologies, developing integrations, automations, dashboards, and data pipelines that improve asset visibility, governance, and decision-making across IT, Finance, Procurement, Security, and Operations.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on Flexera administration experience with strong technical skills in APIs, scripting, data reconciliation, automation, reporting, and enterprise system integrations.

Location: Remote, Hybrid

Main Responsibilities

Flexera Platform Engineering

  • Administer, configure, and optimize the Flexera platform ecosystem
  • Serve as the technical owner for Flexera integrations, data quality, and platform performance
  • Configure and maintain software asset management, hardware asset management, and discovery capabilities
  • Support platform upgrades, enhancements, and operational stability

Integrations & Automation

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Flexera and enterprise systems
  • Build and support API-based integrations with discovery tools, procurement systems, CMDBs, ERP platforms, cloud services, and financial systems
  • Develop automation workflows using scripting, APIs, and platform tools
  • Reduce manual processes through workflow automation and data orchestration

Data Engineering & Asset Intelligence

  • Build and maintain asset data ingestion, transformation, normalization, and reconciliation processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues across discovery, inventory, and asset repositories
  • Establish controls to ensure accurate hardware, software, and cloud asset visibility
  • Support enterprise reporting, forecasting, and compliance initiatives through high-quality asset data

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting using Flexera data
  • Build operational reporting that improves lifecycle management, compliance, and cost optimization
  • Support advanced analytics initiatives including anomaly detection and automation opportunities

Asset Management & Compliance

  • Support software license compliance, entitlement management, and audit readiness efforts
  • Maintain accurate software and hardware asset records across the environment
  • Identify opportunities for optimization, reclamation, and cost reduction
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, Security, and IT teams to improve lifecycle governance

Main Requirements

Required

  • 5+ years supporting enterprise IT Asset Management or Software Asset Management platforms
  • 3+ years administering or engineering Flexera solutions (Flexera One, FlexNet Manager, or related technologies)
  • Experience building or maintaining API integrations between enterprise platforms
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar technologies
  • Strong knowledge of asset discovery, normalization, reconciliation, and data quality management
  • Experience creating dashboards, reporting, and operational KPIs
  • Experience troubleshooting and improving enterprise data pipelines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across IT, Finance, Procurement, and Security teams

Preferred

  • Experience with Flexera One, FlexNet Manager, or Flexera Cloud technologies
  • Experience integrating Flexera with ServiceNow, Intune, SCCM/MECM, Jamf, Azure, AWS, or ERP platforms
  • Experience with SQL, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and data transformation tools
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or enterprise reporting platforms
  • Experience with CMDB data models and configuration management practices
  • Knowledge of software licensing, entitlement management, and audit defense practices
  • Flexera certifications, IAITAM certifications, or relevant platform certifications

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges: $132,000 - $198,000
