Job Summary

The AI & Strategic Analytics Intern will support McKesson Specialty Health's Strategic Insights team in exploring innovative applications of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and business intelligence. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data, technology, and business strategy, helping identify emerging opportunities to enhance analytics, reporting, decision-making, and operational effectiveness.

The intern will contribute to AI experimentation, analytical research, insight generation, dashboard development, and strategic projects while collaborating with business, product, and technology teams. This role is ideal for a highly curious and innovative student who is passionate about AI, data analytics, and solving complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities

AI Innovation & Experimentation

  • Research emerging AI technologies, industry trends, and innovative analytics practices.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage Generative AI, machine learning, and automation across reporting, analytics, and business processes.

  • Develop proof-of-concept solutions and prototypes to demonstrate AI-enabled use cases.

  • Evaluate AI tools and technologies that can improve efficiency, insight generation, and decision-making.

Data Analytics & Insights

  • Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.

  • Support development of dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations using Power BI and related tools.

  • Assist in generating actionable business insights for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Perform exploratory data analysis and help communicate findings through compelling visualizations and presentations.

Strategic Projects

  • Support AI, analytics, CRM transformation, and reporting initiatives across Specialty Health.

  • Assist with business research, benchmarking, and opportunity assessments.

  • Help build executive presentations, business cases, and strategic recommendations.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual reporting and analytical processes.

  • Support development of automation solutions using AI, analytics platforms, and low-code tools.

  • Help document best practices, methodologies, and learning materials.

Qualifications

Education

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:

  • Computer Science

  • Data Science

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Machine Learning

  • Statistics

  • Business Analytics

  • Mathematics

  • Engineering

  • or a related field

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Generative AI technologies and large language models (LLMs).

  • Experience with Python.

  • Familiarity with SQL.

  • Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.

  • Experience with Snowflake.

  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and AI model development.

  • Experience with prompt engineering, AI prototyping, or hackathon-style projects is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling capabilities.

  • Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and a passion for innovation.
