Job description

Division of Water Resources is seeking a Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will be comfortable giving presentations in front of various size audiences, both in-person and virtually. Job responsibilities may include: assisting with development of reports for DWR's compliance with Phase 2 of EPA's NPDES Electronic Reporting Rule (eRule), serving as a technical program representative who can bridge the gap between IT partners and programmatic team on eRule projects, development of training materials and documentation for new and existing forms in MyTDEC Forms, e-reporting, mapping of data between systems, and data flows to DWR and EPA databases. This person would also provide outreach to both internal and external staff on training for all aspects of e-reporting and NPDES data management. The ideal candidate will be very detail oriented and attentive to data quality. Customer service skills are very important as this person will also provide support to both internal and external customers. Extra skills that would be nice to have are proficiency in ARC GIS and Tableau as these could open additional project opportunities within the unit.
The Ideal candidate for this position has an IT background with proficiency in Python, SQL, Power BI and /or SAP Business Objects, Excel, and data verification. The candidate should also prepare data-driven reports, have familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance with federal rules, and be proficient in developing in Python and SQL languages.
