Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

  • Provides Occupational Therapy assessment and therapeutic interventions to individuals within a wide range of diagnoses including general medical, orthopedic, neurologic and cardiovascular in the area of functional activities related to activities of daily living, upper body strength and mobility.
  • Provides education to patients, appropriate family members and friends in order to restore patient's functional independence and reduce or prevent long term disability.
  • Assists the patients to reach their maximum potential and return to their family and community.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other disciplines and implements the programs of the Rehabilitation Department under the general direction of the Rehabilitation Manager.
Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Graduate of an accrediated school of Occupational Therapy
  • Basic Life Support - AHA (CT CPRBLS)
  • CERT Occupational Therapy (CT OT)

Preferred:

  • One (1) year of experience preferred as an O.T.R. in a physical disabilities setting, in acute care or acute rehabilitation.
  • Prefer affiliation with AOTA.
  • Prefer experience with rehab therapy either through educational affiliations or prior work experience.
