Job description

Job Summary:
The Senior RF Engineer will perform a team leader role in RF wireless network engineering work in support of projects and tasks in the Fixed Wireless, Private LTE / CBRS, WiFi and other wireless networks. The primary function involves RF Design for new sites, RF Optimization and performance engineering and GIS mapping. Providing RF Engineering support is also expected for wireless projects, which includes design, configuration and testing of the wireless network both remote and on site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Provides supervision in RF Engineering design for sites in the wireless network. Requires the ability to use RF planning and mapping software tools.
b. Project coordination and supervision of RF Engineering design and implementation support for wireless network projects. Requires understanding of wireless standards, GIS mapping, software tools and experience with hardware supplies including but not limited to Nokia, Airspan, Mimosa, Cambium, Ruckus, ARRA and others.


c. Act as team lead in Performing RF Optimization work. Collection and post processing of data is required to accomplish task. In addition, RF analysis of collected data and recommending resolution to issues is required.
d. Provides guidance to the development of a process plan, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
e. Perform site selection through cell planning, review and approval process. Coordination with the client is required.
f. Supervise and Coordinates work with other RF Engineers, technicians and contractors. RF drive test preparation, search area map preparation for new sites and problem resolution with RF equipment vendors are some of the expected responsibilities.
g. Provides engineering support for business development and sales activities.


h. Performs activities associated with the effective management of internal site databases and coordination with other groups as needed.
i. Ability to learn new wireless technologies, features, capabilities and improvements is expected.
j. Perform presentations of wireless projects and provide easy to understand reports of technical plans.
k. Responsible for following, supporting, and enforcing all internal control processes and procedures.

l. Works well within a team environment.

m. Some travel will be required.
Qualification Requirements:
a. At least 5 years related experience and/or training ; Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is desired but not required.
b. Team lead role for RF planning, knowledge of wireless fundamentals and operation of optimization tools. Experience with licensed and un-licensed wireless equipment suppliers.
c. Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) is desired. Professional board certification is desired.

d. Salary commensurate with experience.
