Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Systems Operations Manager to lead a team responsible for key technology infrastructure within the Platform Front Line organization. This role is accountable for ensuring rapid, consistent recovery from production incidents and maintaining strong operational discipline as a guardian of production stability, including oversight of change readiness and operational risk management.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a Systems Operations team of analysts that monitor installed systems and infrastructure
  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Systems Operations functional area
  • Identify and recommend opportunities within Systems Operations to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on technical tasks
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
  • Collaborate and consult with analysts, Information Technology personnel, or vendors
  • Manage mid to highly experienced analysts
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Systems Operations
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in technology infrastructure operations, production support, or systems engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in a production operations environment
  • 3+ years' experience in incident management, recovery execution, and operational leadership in high-availability environments
  • 2+ years' experience of demonstrated ability to lead teams during high-severity incidents and drive rapid restoration of services
  • 3+ years' experience with change management processes and risk/control frameworks
  • 3+ years' experience of proven ability to improve operational performance, including stability, consistency, and control adherence


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure operations teams supporting enterprise platforms
  • Strong understanding of L2/L3 support models and escalation management
  • Experience driving operational excellence programs, including MTTR reduction and incident prevention
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and automation tools
  • Experience supporting mission-critical environments in regulated industries
  • Proven ability to lead global teams (onshore/offshore) and drive consistent execution
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead effectively during high-pressure situations


Job Expectations:

  • Lead a 24x7 operations team, including on-call and incident response coverage
  • Direct major incident management activities, ensuring timely resolution and clear executive communication
  • Enforce change discipline, including pre-implementation readiness reviews and post-change validation
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise operational, risk, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain documentation and evidence required for audit and control validation
  • Partner across global teams to ensure consistent operational execution and coverage
  • Drive a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement
