Job description

Responsibilities
Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer(Journeyman) to support the Naval Aircrew Systems program office (PMA-202) at NAS Patuxent River in Lexington Park, MD. PMA-202 includes all systems that directly support the aircrew and troops or passengers in the performance of their missions, and consist of the functional components, internal and external interfaces, and the environment to optimize human performance, protection and sustainment in aviation operations. This position will support the Survival & Resiliency Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) to enhance survivability in hostile and extreme environments. This Integrated Product Team's portfolio includes the survival radios, passive signaling devices, sea beacons and Aviation Life Support Systems such as aircrew survival vests, life preservers, lightweight body armor, buoyant body armor, and survival equipment. This is a hybrid position work is on-site at NAVAIR Headquarters building 2272 several times a week as required plus local telework. Travel requirements are one week per quarter.
The selected candidate will be responsible for not limited to:
  • Perform programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
  • Guide the engineering development of modern complex systems
  • Employ systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.
  • Track and validate systems requirements
  • Coordinate with Airworthiness/Cybersafe Office in close collaboration with Technical Warrant Holders/Deputy Technical Warrant Holders on the Engineering/Data Requirements Agreement Plans (EDRAPs) to gain Flight Clearances approvals
  • Provide Systems Engineering support for Engineering Investigations
  • Monitor system performance, integration and airworthiness.
  • Contribute to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Must hold a BA/BS degree in a technical field or scientific field from an accredited college or university
  • Must have three (3) years of recent and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and DoD acquisition processes is required
  • Familiarity with NAVAIR, NAWCAD, and airworthiness processes desired
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Must be a US Citizen

Compensation Statement
At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $130,577.00 - $144,991.00
