As a Systems Engineer III, you will handle advanced tasks in requirements engineering, systems integration, Verification & Validation (V&V), and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). with a high level of competence. You will lead system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management efforts, providing guidance to junior engineers. You will take on significant project responsibilities, demonstrating expertise in architecture/design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management. Effective communication and collaboration are crucial as you drive project success and mentor less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Decompose and allocate top-level Nuclear Survivability requirements (e.g., radiation, EMP/HEMP, blast, thermal) into system, subsystem, and component-level specifications
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability from system-level nuclear survivability criteria down to design and test artifacts
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and specialty engineering teams to ensure nuclear survivability requirements are properly implemented across the system architecture
  • Support radiation testing activities, including test planning coordination, data review, and documentation
  • Assist in monitoring hardness assurance/hardness surveillance (HA/HS) processes to verify manufacturing and design compliance with nuclear survivability requirements
  • Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings related to nuclear survivability
  • Support preparation of compliance matrices, verification plans, and technical reports for internal and customer/government review
  • Identify and help resolve gaps, conflicts, or ambiguities in nuclear survivability requirements
  • Experience using JIRA, JAMA and CAMEO

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • Experience in requirements development, decomposition, and traceability for complex systems
  • Familiarity with nuclear survivability concepts (radiation effects, hardness assurance, EMP) or a strong aptitude to learn them quickly
  • Understanding of systems engineering processes across the full lifecycle (requirements, design, verification, validation)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Direct experience with nuclear survivability standards (e.g., MIL-STD-3023, DG-1023) or radiation hardness assurance (RHA) programs
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama)
  • Exposure to radiation test facilities, test data analysis, or hardness surveillance program monitoring
  • Active U.S. government security clearance

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Hand/finger dexterity for system modeling and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $108,496.89 - $149,183.22. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
