IT Systems Administrator - Millennium Space Systems

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, well-rounded, and security-minded IT Systems Administrator to join our team. IT Systems Administrators are responsible for maintaining, configuring, updating, and integrating our secure enterprise and air-gapped systems with a complex variety of operating systems, software applications, and hardware. You will work with collaborative teams of peers that specialize in maintaining compliance standards that keep our systems updated and secure.

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational policies. This position will sit onsite at our office in El Segundo, CA.

This position's internal job is Systems Administrator. Our team is currently hiring for level 3 OR 4.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Expected to provide Tier II and below support
  • Manage system installation, configuration, upgrades, and updates on secure networks
  • Maintain documentation for system operations, changes, and procedures
  • Provide technical support and interact with customers in-person, by email, or by response to tickets
  • Escalate tickets, tasks, and problems as required
  • Monitor systems and resolve issues to prevent costly downtime
  • Other job duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain security certifications such as Security+ or equivalent IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140)
  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Windows Server (2016 or later) and Windows desktop OS (Windows 10 or later)
  • Experience with VMware vCenter, vSphere, and managing virtual machines
  • Experience administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include Linux sub-systems, patching, packaging (RPM), performance tuning, networking, user management, and security
  • Must have an active U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with system administration of complex infrastructure and software development systems
  • Experience maintaining and configuring Active Directory (AD)
  • Experience executing DoD STIGs for operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2016+)
  • Experience with multiple Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper switches and firewalls
  • Experience with VEEAM Backup Suite or Power Protect Data Manager
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux integration
  • Ability to create technical documentation to train end users
  • Experience with DNS, Group Policies, Print Management
  • Experience with troubleshooting, updating, and upgrading Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
  • Experience with backup and recovery procedures

Travel: Occasional travel may be required based on business needs

  • Level 3: $102,850-$151,250
  • Level 4: $128,350-$173,650
