Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a Software Systems Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of business software systems. This role is responsible for ensuring software reliability, data integrity, user access, system functionality, and overall user adoption. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys collaborating across departments to deliver technology solutions that support operational excellence and business objectives.

Overview:

 

The Software Systems Administrator serves as the primary administrator for Company software applications, with a focus on fleet management and related business systems. This role partners with software vendors, Information Technology, and internal stakeholders to support system performance, user access, reporting, documentation, training, and software enhancements. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively support users while maintaining system security and integrity.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assist in the administration, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of business software systems
  • Coordinate with software vendors and internal stakeholders to support system upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities
  • Monitor software performance and reliability to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, access, and functionality issues
  • Support user account administration, security roles, permissions, and access controls
  • Conduct user access reviews and audits to support security and compliance initiatives
  • Assist with onboarding and software setup for new users
  • Provide user support, training, and communication regarding system functionality and updates
  • Support system integrations between internal and external applications
  • Maintain system data integrity, reporting accuracy, and overall system reliability
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and reporting solutions
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system administration, processes, and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in software performance, reporting, and user experience
  • Partner with Information Technology, vendors, and business stakeholders to support technology initiatives and enhancements
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

     

     Qualifications & Skills:

     

  • General understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, hardware components, data management, and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Knowledge of software administration principles and user access management
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with users, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize work effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and security
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • Experience supporting Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications preferred
  • Familiarity with software security best practices and data protection principles preferred
  • Experience supporting software integrations, reporting tools, or business systems preferred
  • Experience providing end-user training and system support in a business environment preferred
