Systems Administrator | Olean, New York | Information Technology

Position Summary

The Systems Administrator supports Remote Desktop Technologies and business applications within a global enterprise environment. This role provides technical and operational support for secure application delivery, platform integration, migrations, documentation, software asset management, and coordination across internal teams, service providers, and vendors. The position will participate in structured knowledge-transfer and transition activities to support the transfer of assigned responsibilities from the Senior Resource and maintain operational continuity throughout the engagement. Training will be focused on developing proficiency in the responsibilities outlined below.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Windows Servers, Remote Desktop Technologies, Cloud Assets (AWS and GCP) and related application-delivery components.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 troubleshooting for availability, performance, authentication, connectivity, printing, profile, and application issues.
  • Coordinate incidents, service requests, changes, and escalations with end users, managed-service partners, and vendors.
  • Monitor services, communications, and support channels; assess business impact; communicate status; and drive issues through resolution.
  • Assist with evaluation and onboarding of third-party software.
  • Support compliance with Cybersecurity standards and procedures.
  • Participate in structured knowledge-transfer, cross-training, and transition activities to develop proficiency in assigned systems and responsibilities listed below:
Business Application and Security Support
  • Support Business Applications hosted on Windows Server, Remote Desktop Technologies, web, Cloud, file server, and OpenShift platforms.
  • Partner with application owners and development teams to troubleshoot integrations, environment-specific configurations, access, and deployment issues.
  • Implement security upgrades, vulnerability remediation, access controls, certificate and secret rotations, and other cybersecurity requirements.
  • Support third-party cyber risk management and software procurement activities by coordinating technical assessments, vendor engagement, and required documentation.
Service Management and Coordination
  • Act as a liaison between business users, application teams, infrastructure teams, managed-service providers, procurement, cybersecurity teams, and vendors.
  • Coordinate Technical projects, provide status updates, track actions and risks, and maintain stakeholder alignment.
  • Support software asset management by maintaining license, entitlement, renewal, vendor, purchase-order, and deployment information.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures, design documentation, support guides, disaster-recovery plans, knowledge articles, and integration records.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Working knowledge in Remote Desktop Technologies, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and application-delivery technologies.
  • Experience with, authentication mechanisms, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), SSO, firewalls, DNS, certificates, databases, web services, and OpenShift or comparable container platforms.
  • Ability to diagnose technical and application issues across multiple technical domains.
  • Excellent written communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.
  • Strong commitment to working in a multicultural, globally distributed environment and fostering effective cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Ability to prioritize competing requests, work independently, collaborate globally, and operate effectively during high-impact incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Microsoft Windows and Server Operating Systems and Administration, Active Directory and Remote Desktop Technologies. ,
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft, virtualization, networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, or IT service management.
  • Experience with technical project coordination, disaster recovery, operational readiness, and controlled production change.
  • Experience with IT service management practices, incident and change coordination, security remediation, vendor management, and software licensing.

This role supports a global enterprise environment and may require coordination across time zones, participation in incident response, occasional controlled after-hours application updates, and collaboration with onsite and remote teams. The position is primarily based at the designated work location, with an expectation of onsite presence five days per week. Remote support may be required as business needs dictate. Work arrangements and travel requirements are determined by business needs policy.
