What jobs make $1,000,000 a year?

In the field of systematics, high-paying roles such as senior research scientists, university professors with extensive experience, or executives in biotech companies can reach or exceed $1,000,000 annually through salaries, bonuses, and royalties. These positions typically require advanced degrees, specialized expertise, and often involve leadership, research funding, or intellectual property rights.

What jobs pay 10,000 a month without a degree?

In the field of systematics or related scientific roles, most positions require advanced degrees; however, some high-paying jobs in technology, sales, or entrepreneurship can reach or exceed $10,000 per month without a degree. These often involve skills like coding, digital marketing, or sales expertise, and may require certifications or experience rather than formal education.

What jobs pay $2000 a day?

High-paying jobs related to systematics, such as specialized consultants, senior researchers, or industry experts in fields like taxonomy, biodiversity, or conservation, can sometimes earn around $2000 per day, especially with extensive experience or consulting roles. These positions often require advanced degrees, specialized skills, and a strong reputation in the field.

What is the difference between Systematics vs Taxonomist?

AspectSystematicsTaxonomist
Required credentialsBachelor's or Master's in Biology, Ecology, or related fields; often includes training in classification and phylogeneticsBachelor's or Master's in Biology, Botany, Zoology, or related fields; specialized in species identification and classification
Work environmentResearch labs, fieldwork, museums, academic institutionsResearch labs, museums, fieldwork, environmental agencies
Industry usageUsed broadly in biological sciences, ecology, conservationPrimarily in taxonomy, biodiversity studies, conservation projects

Systematics and Taxonomist roles overlap in classification and identification of species, but systematics encompasses broader evolutionary relationships and phylogenetics, while taxonomists focus on species description and classification. Both roles are essential in biological research and conservation efforts.

What are systematists and what do they do?

Systematists are scientists who study the diversity of organisms and their evolutionary relationships. They classify and name species, often using morphological, genetic, and ecological data to understand how different organisms are related. Systematists play a crucial role in organizing biological information, which helps in fields like conservation, agriculture, and medicine. Their work often involves field research, laboratory analysis, and the use of computational tools to construct evolutionary trees.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

In the field of systematics, high-paying roles such as senior research scientists, university professors with extensive experience, or executives in biotech companies can reach or exceed $500,000 annually, especially with bonuses and stock options. These positions typically require advanced degrees, specialized skills, and significant experience in biological classification, taxonomy, or related research environments.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in systematics, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in systematics often encounter challenges such as managing large and complex datasets, staying current with evolving classification methods, and integrating molecular and morphological data. Collaboration with bioinformaticians, regular training on the latest analytical tools, and participation in professional networks can help address these issues. Additionally, effective communication with colleagues in related fields ensures consistency in taxonomy and supports robust research outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Systematics (Taxonomist), and why are they important?

To excel as a Systematics (Taxonomist), you need a strong background in biology, taxonomy, and evolutionary relationships, usually supported by an advanced degree in biological sciences. Familiarity with laboratory techniques, molecular data analysis, and software like phylogenetic tree builders (e.g., MEGA, PAUP*) is essential. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help in interpreting data and collaborating with research teams. These competencies are crucial for accurately classifying organisms, advancing scientific knowledge, and informing conservation efforts.

Job description

Systematic Options Researcher / Trader (Market Making)About Us

GSR is crypto's capital markets partner, helping founders and institutions scale with confidence. With over a decade of specialized expertise, we deliver institutional-grade market making, OTC trading, and strategic venture capital to support growth at every stage.

Our value goes beyond execution. We provide access to liquidity, real-time market intelligence, and strategic guidance shaped by years operating at the center of global crypto markets. We bridge the gap between traditional finance and digital assets, connecting teams with the capital, market access, and insights they need to build what's next.

About the Role

We are looking for a Systematic Options Researcher / Trader to join our Cryptocurrency Options Market Making team. This role focuses on the research, development, and deployment of systematic strategies for pricing, quoting, and risk management in options markets.

You will operate at the intersection of quantitative research, real-time trading systems, and production strategy deployment - contributing directly to live trading performance in highly competitive markets. This role is suited for someone with strong quantitative intuition, deep options knowledge, and solid engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve systematic options market-making strategies.
  • Design and calibrate volatility models, skew models, and surface construction frameworks.
  • Research and implement pricing models for vanilla and multi-leg options strategies.
  • Optimize quoting logic under microstructure constraints (latency, queue position, fill probability).
  • Design and evaluate delta, gamma, and vega hedging frameworks.
  • Build robust backtesting tools and simulation environments for options strategies.
  • Analyze trading performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to deploy research into production systems.
  • Monitor live strategies and iterate quickly in response to market behaviour.
RequirementsTechnical Skills
  • Strong programming skills in Python (research, prototyping, data analysis) and C/C++ or Rust (performance-critical production systems).
  • Experience working with real-time trading systems.
  • Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and stochastic processes.
  • Experience with volatility modelling and options pricing.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and build scalable research pipelines.
Quantitative Background
  • Strong understanding of Black-Scholes and advanced pricing frameworks, volatility surfaces and skew dynamics, Greeks and risk management, and market microstructure.
  • Prior experience in systematic trading or market making is highly preferred.
What We Offer
  • A collaborative and transparent company culture founded on Integrity, Innovation, and Performance.
  • Benefits including healthcare, dental, vision, retirement planning, 30 days of holiday, and free lunches when in the office.
  • Hybrid working pattern across our global offices in London, the US, Singapore, Zug, and Malaga.
  • Regular Town Halls, team lunches, offsites, and social events.
  • A strong Corporate and Social Responsibility program, including charity matching and volunteer days.
  • Immigration and relocation support where required.
