Job description

A highly regarded private investment organization is seeking a Research Analyst, Public Equities to join its investment team. Reporting directly to the Head of Public Equities, this individual will help research, develop, and evaluate both systematic and fundamental equity investment strategies across global markets.

The successful candidate will contribute throughout the investment lifecycle, including data acquisition, research, signal generation, portfolio construction, and ongoing strategy development. This role requires a combination of strong quantitative skills, investment judgment, and programming expertise to transform large-scale financial and alternative datasets into actionable investment insights.

The Research Analyst will also partner with data analysts and engineers to develop scalable research infrastructure and investment tools in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with and help lead equity data analysts and engineers.
  • Build, manage, and enhance data pipelines utilizing internal and external financial datasets.
  • Extract, clean, transform, and analyze data from institutional data providers and other research sources.
  • Assess and integrate new datasets, including alternative data, NLP-based signals, earnings transcript data, and other non-traditional sources.
  • Design, test, and refine systematic equity factors, signals, and investment frameworks across domestic and international markets.
  • Develop and maintain reusable research tools, code libraries, and analytical frameworks.
  • Conduct fundamental and quantitative research to identify investment opportunities and improve existing strategies.
  • Support portfolio construction efforts through factor analysis, risk assessment, and optimization techniques.
  • Automate recurring research workflows, reporting processes, and monitoring systems to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Partner closely with senior investment professionals on strategic research initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience in equities research, quantitative investing, systematic strategies, or related investment roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and public equity markets.
  • Experience working with large-scale financial datasets and investment research platforms.
  • Knowledge of factor investing, signal construction, portfolio construction, risk management, and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Advanced programming skills, preferably in Python and related analytical tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
