Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is looking for a Systems Administrator / Help Desk Support Specialist to deliver hands-on technical support, system administration, and troubleshooting that keeps mission-critical infrastructure running reliably and securely for end users.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 help desk support, responding to and resolving user-submitted tickets in a timely manner
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, servers, and peripheral equipment
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues for end users
  • Perform routine system administration tasks, including account provisioning, access management, and patching
  • Support compliance with security policies and accreditation requirements (e.g., RMF, NIST 800-53)
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures in the ticketing system
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior administrators or engineering teams as needed
  • Assist with system monitoring, backups, and routine maintenance activities
  • Support onboarding/offboarding of users, including equipment setup and account deactivation

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
  • Additional 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required with the ability to obtain a polygraph
  • DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification (e.g., Security+) or ability to obtain within [X] days of hire
  • Working knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems and Active Directory
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management processes
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting classified or restricted-access systems
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, etc.)
  • Exposure to AI/ML-enabled or data-intensive program environments
  • ITIL Foundation certification

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
