What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior engineers in specialized fields such as software engineering, petroleum engineering, and aerospace engineering can earn $300,000 or more annually, especially with extensive experience, advanced skills, and leadership roles. High compensation often involves working in high-demand industries, managing large projects, or holding executive-level responsibilities.

Do systems engineers get paid a lot?

Systems engineers typically earn competitive salaries that vary based on experience, location, and industry. According to industry data, the median annual salary for systems engineers ranges from $70,000 to over $100,000, with higher pay for those with specialized skills or certifications. The role often involves working with complex systems, troubleshooting, and using tools like CAD or simulation software, which can influence compensation levels.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

While most system service engineers do not earn $500,000 annually, some senior or specialized engineers in high-demand industries, such as cybersecurity or cloud infrastructure, with extensive experience and advanced certifications, can reach or exceed this level through bonuses and stock options. Achieving this salary typically requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and working in high-paying sectors or companies.

Will AI replace system engineers?

AI is unlikely to fully replace system engineers, as their role involves complex problem-solving, system design, and troubleshooting that require human judgment and expertise. AI tools can assist with automation and data analysis, but system engineers are essential for overseeing implementation, maintenance, and adapting systems to changing needs.

Job description

Job Title
Service Engineer
Who are we?
As an aircraft manufacturer, industrialist, industrial service provider and logistician, Daher currently has approximately 14,500 employees and achieved a revenue of 1.9 billion euros in 2025. With its family ownership, Daher has been focused on innovation since its creation in 1863. With locations in 15 countries across Europe, North America and Asia, Daher designs and develops value-added solutions for its aeronautical and industrial customers and partners
Daher's Sandpoint, Idaho site is a key U.S. aircraft manufacturing and support location specializing in the hand-built production of the Kodiak aircraft family. The facility supports final assembly, painting, inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities for the Kodiak 100 and Kodiak 900, serving commercial, multi-mission, and public service customers worldwide. In addition to manufacturing, the site provides comprehensive aircraft maintenance, technical support, and quality oversight, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and customer requirements, while continuing to expand production capabilities and reinforcing its role as a center of excellence for rugged, mission-ready turboprop aircraft within Daher's global network.
We are seeking to add Customer Support Engineer to support the lifecycle of Daher aircraft. This role focuses on resolving technical issues, developing repair solutions, and driving continuous improvements across systems and processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally, participate in design reviews, and prepare technical documentation to support regulatory compliance.
Primary Role and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement repairs, system improvements, and product enhancements
  • Review designs using DFM and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Support aircraft maintenance procedures and manuals
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Collaborate across departments on engineering and product improvement initiatives
  • Prepare and present technical documentation to the FAA (ACO/MIDO)
  • Create engineering documentation using Microsoft Office tools
  • Utilize CAD software, preferably Siemens NX

What you'll be doing day-to-day:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • A&P certification is a plus (not required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD tools
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and eager to take on new challenges

Information related to the position: (Required for all positions)
  • The compensation range is $75,000 to $90,000 base salary plus an annual target bonus.

  • The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Daher considers a number of factors when determining salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, skills, and current market conditions.

  • At Daher, your total rewards package is more than just your base salary as we offer a full benefit package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays and more.

Your next opportunity starts here - here are the next steps:
  • Review of your application

  • An initial conversation with a recruiter

  • One or more interviews depending on the position, with the relevant team members and manager(s)

  • After the interviews, constructive feedback regardless of the outcome
