Pay: Dependent on experience POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is for a Level 5 System Integration/Testing Engineer leading the integration, test, and verification of advanced Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) solutions for commercial customers. The position focuses on applying rigorous systems engineering and software development processes, ensuring compliance with aviation and industry development-assurance standards, and delivering high-reliability navigation capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Serve as Integration & Test Lead, developing and executing integration, test, and verification (IT&V) plans for GNSS/SBAS hardware and software, including test-procedure creation, test execution, data analysis, and reporting.
Apply relevant assurance standards (such as SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, RTCA DO-178C, DO-278A, and/or DO-254 as appropriate) to ensure safety, reliability, and airworthiness of navigation solutions.
Conduct risk and safety analysis, including hazard assessments and FMEA, and identify and mitigate technical and program risks.
Coordinate across software, hardware, RF, electrical, and mission-operations teams to resolve integration issues and ensure successful end-to-end system performance.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and act as a subject-matter expert on GNSS/SBAS technologies.
Communicate status, risks, findings, and technical recommendations to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors in both written and verbal formats. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with the application of systems engineering and software development processes to the design, development, integration, test, and verification of complex systems.
Experience working with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (e.g., GPS, Galileo, or other GNSS constellations).
Hands-on experience with complex software development and continuous integration processes/metrics in at least one modern programming language (such as C++, Java, or Python). ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS).
Strong knowledge of Global Navigation Satellite Systems and their application to navigation solutions.
Systems engineering background, including experience with requirements, design, interfaces, and verification.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support integration and test activities or customer engagements.
