Job description

Description RESUME REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED The Retirement System of the City of Detroit (RSCD) is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager Analytics Specialist 4 to join its team. This position reports directly to the Assistant Executive Director and plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, transparency, and accountability of RSCD's financial and operational activities. The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist is responsible for supporting initiatives established by the department/division leader.

They possess knowledge of project development and the ability to manage a project or program from start to finish. They assist with the development and implementation of divisional goals and initiatives. The Project Manager & Analytics Specialist possesses expertise in data analysis and has the ability to work with advanced levels of data analytics.

They drive change and process improvements within the customer base. The position of the Project Manager & Analytics Specialist focuses heavily on managing a wide range of projects involving data collection, production, and dissemination relating to strategy, planning, and organizational effectiveness efforts. This position reports to a department/division leader.

Examples of Duties Provides vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and management for the development and facilitation of policy operations, processes, and procedures to meet current and future business demands and needs. Plans, directs, trains, and supervises employees daily which includes assignment of work, conducting performance reviews and making recommendations regarding career development and progression. Evaluates performance of subordinate managers and supervisors.

Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors and managers. Analyzes data from a variety of database sources and formats for research, systems, and report design. Assists with the implementation of organizational goals, initiatives and plans.

Develops and implements initiatives to improve work processes. Drives fact-based decision making at all levels within the organization. Drives process improvement initiatives, including automation, on the processes/tools used to increase the capability and efficiency of reporting efforts.

Manages project development and execution from inception to closure. Presents results of analyses concisely and effectively to ensure adoption. Provides recommendations for improving business results, operational efficiencies, and system experiences through in-depth analysis.

Provides supporting information to substantiate research findings. Works in conjunction with the department/division leader to manage change control and ensure consistency and alignment of change control management across the department. Minimum Qualifications Qualifications (required): Completion of a bachelor's degree with a major in data analytics, project management, business, management, organizational development or a closely related field.

Minimum of five (5) years managerial/supervisory experience that includes supervising subordinate employees daily, assigning, planning and directing employees' work, training and coaching staff, conducting performance reviews, providing feedback and making recommendations regarding career development and progression. Minimum of four to five (4-5) years of years of project management experience. Qualifications (preferred): Knowledge of: Thorough knowledge of management and supervisor principles.

Thorough knowledge of problem solving/decision making. Thorough knowledge of organizational development. Skill in: Effective written and oral communication.

Thoroughness and attention to detail. Gathering, organizing and analyzing information. Coordinating and expediting employee actions affecting department services.

Team work and team development.
