What We Are Looking For:

Join us as we help shape the future of renewable energy infrastructure! We are seeking a Renewable Electrical Engineer Designer to support multidisciplinary Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects through feasibility, pre-construction, and construction phases, with a strong focus on electrical design. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while contributing to sustainable energy solutions. If you are passionate about innovation, electrical system design, and improving engineering efficiencies, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within PSE’s growing renewables team. Preferred to have someone hybrid at one of our PSE offices, but open to remote candidates.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Embrace, uphold, and live out PSE’s core values around People, Problem-Solving, and Progress.
  • Design commercial and utility-scale Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS), and microgrid projects ranging from 100kW to 100MW+.
  • Create and develop engineering drawings and electrical designs using AutoCAD and related engineering software.
  • Develop and analyze energy production and power system models using tools such as PVSyst, HelioScope, SKM, and ETAP.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and stakeholders throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Support permitting activities, project documentation, and design change management processes.
  • Improve AutoCAD standards, workflows, procedures, and overall engineering efficiencies.
  • Research, test, and evaluate electrical systems and components while supporting continuous professional development and industry best practices.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in computer drafting/design utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience supporting electrical power systems within renewable energy, industrial, consulting, or professional services environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting Solar PV, BESS, microgrid, or other utility-scale renewable energy projects is highly desired.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, methods, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer-assisted engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, MATLAB, PVSyst, HelioScope, or similar tools.


Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $69,607 - $88,638 annually.

This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for one to five years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
