We are currently seeking a Senior Designer Engineer/Technologist - to join our team in Belleville Ontario. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the management of technical projects, supporting a talented team of engineers and driving excellence in design processes.


Senior Designer Engineer/Technologist will combine leadership with technical expertise, assist with overseeing the design team, and fostering professional growth among team members. Possess a broad spectrum of material handling related knowledge including detail design, field installation and basic elements of project management. Assist the various project teams and resource planning team to support proper alignment of skills to tasks. This role works with the design teams to facilitate overall engineering team efforts. Here are some of the things you’ll be working on:

  • Support the current Manager with leading and mentoring the team of designers, technicians, and technologist,
  • Assist with providing daily guidance and fostering skill development.
  • Oversee engineering design activities, ensuring projects adhere to high-quality standards.
  • Monitor multiple projects with manager, to maintain schedule and contractual commitments.
  • Support and act as a decision-maker on technical matters when challenges arise within project teams.
  • Supervise team efforts to maintain established standards for verification and checking.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, team members, and management associates.
  • Review designs prepared by team members ensure that designs are practical and buildable.
  • Continue developing analytical skills and proficiency in modern CAD tools.
  • Review technical reports for component inspections and review technical matters with suppliers or contractors.
  • Support continuous improvement and high quality standards of our ISO 9001 system
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technologist Diploma in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of industry-specific experience in engineering, design or fabrication/construction.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and managing teams.
  • Proficiency in material handling systems and engineering design.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with modern CAD tools.
  • Experience laying out, designing and generating arrangement drawings for bulk material handling systems and their associated steel structures or similar industrial field, preference will be given to any experience on designs using international codes and standards for structural steel, guarding, access, and platforms.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
