Responsibilities

Make an impact

  • Support Sales and Sales Solution Design organizations during proposal phase with potential customers
  • Develop opportunity Supply Plan in alignment with the Solution Design Concept (developed by others) and the Procurement team’s approved and preferred suppliers
  • Develop and submit Request for Proposal (“RFP”) documentation to suppliers
  • Develop and submit requests for pricing, hours, and schedule from internal supply organizations (equipment, software, services)
  • Address questions from internal/external suppliers
  • Assess input external and internal suppliers and validate compliance with requirements
  • Lead cost engineering analysis and population and validation of the cost estimation workbook utilized for Rough Order of Magnitude (“ROM”), Budget, and Firm pricing offers to customers
  • Populate Scope of Supply section in proposal offer
  • Evaluate and document customer requirements; determine and document compliance vs. exceptions to these requirements in proposal documentation
  • Lead System Engineering post‑contract handover to operations execution team
  • Prepare and lead, when necessary, internal reviews (e.g. Cost, Price, Risk) with Swisslog stakeholders in accordance with Swisslog processes
  • Assist in the evaluation of proposal concepts and alternates; be able to compare different solutions and present the differences
  • Create technical drawings in AutoCad or other Swisslog preferred drawing packages (i.e. Revit)
  • Host and facilitate educational events from suppliers
  • Leverage and maintain documentation management system pertaining to the System Engineering function
  • Participate in internal and external presentations pertaining to proposal or continuous improvement activities
  • Lead and participate in internal efforts to improve tools and processes
  • Support others in the System Engineering team
Application Requirements

What you need to succeed

  • 4 Year Engineering Bachelors Degree preferably Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical
  • Considerable material handling industry experience is an acceptable substitute for an engineering degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years engineering work experience
  • Professional communication skills (Oral and written)
  • Ability to travel on occasion
Desirable Qualifications
  • 2-3 years in the material handling industry working on solutions and preparing proposals for multi‑million dollar projects consisting of one or more of the following solutions: AS/RS, pallet or lights goods conveyors, AGVs, AMRs, etc

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
