Job Summary
Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern! Our internships are hands on, highly technical, and designed to let you see what it's like to work at Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems. This is a paid summer undergraduate intern opportunity. Engineering interns work closely with and assist our Engineering staff with various assignments and projects. Our Summer Intern Program consists of at least 10 weeks of real world experience in a manufacturing environment.
In addition to Manufacturing Engineering, we offer assignments in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, and Test. Mentors are assigned to assist interns in achieving engineering related career development that is of mutual benefit to the intern and DRS.

What You Will Do
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • Help in research in a your functional area
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers; assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Current accredited college or university enrollment; making progress towards an undergraduate degree in the relevant engineering field
  • Grade point average of 3.0 or above
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
  • Basic engineering tool knowledge relevant to discipline
  • Preferable entering the junior or senior year
  • Knowledge of 3-phase power systems, power electronics, control systems, switchgear, motors, mg sets, electronics packaging, energy conversion, etc. a plus
