This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full‑time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

The C‑17 SEIT team is seeking innovative, enthusiastic, and highly collaborative individuals with a strong curiosity for exploring design and architecture details. As an Associate or Mid‑Level C‑17 Systems Engineer, you will support the C‑17 airplane programs, with a focus on services and modernization efforts. In this role, you will contribute to the successful integration of design changes across the fleet by supporting airworthiness activities, technical documentation, and certification efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in engineering principles, a working understanding of certification and compliance processes, and strong written and verbal communication skills. You should be comfortable working in a collaborative engineering environment, taking initiative, and helping coordinate technical efforts across multiple functions. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting and is eager to contribute to meaningful aircraft sustainment and modernization work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support airworthiness evaluations related to project plans, design changes, and technical artifacts
  • Assist in developing and maintaining requirements aligned with regulatory and customer needs
  • Collaborate with engineers and customers to support compliance and certification activities
  • Help prepare airworthiness compliance documentation and supporting data
  • Apply systems engineering principles to technical documentation, testing, and certification work
  • Review and analyze data to support findings, recommendations, and issue resolution
  • Support verification, validation, qualification, and certification efforts as needed
  • Use Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to develop and present technical information
Required Skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years' working within a related engineering discipline (i.e., Payloads, Structures, Electrical, Cabin Systems, etc.)
  • 1+ years’ experience in a role requiring project/program management skills and good understanding of aircraft systems and modifications.
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Experience with requirements traceability matrix management
  • Experience with airworthiness methodology and criteria.
  • Experience with MIL‑STD 516C criteria.
  • Able to apply Systems Engineering principles, tools, and techniques to the Design, Technical Documents, Testing, and Certification of aircraft.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in leading teams or projects
  • Experience with Engineering, Modifications, Proposal development, and Contracts.
  • Previous experience working in an aircraft modification environment or with Supplemental Type Certification (STC)
  • Has good understanding of 14 CFR Part 25 regulations
  • Able to apply MBSE
  • Ability to travel domestically & international up to 10% of the time
