Systems Control Engineer

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Systems Control Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Possessing a thorough background in Allen-Bradley controls systems and hardware and proficiency in Motion Control Servo's including Kinetix Drives and Servo Motors
  • Leading controls aspects of capital projects with Division Engineering partners
  • Leading strategic improvement initiatives for the department by utilizing a working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, working knowledge of Network Architecture, robotics, servo motion control, variable frequency drives (VFD), data historians, control and process valves
  • Support Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian, Asset Centre, Manage Servers and other Upper-Level Systems as needed
  • Supporting Systems Technicians with tactical projects and growth
  • Driving continuous improvement activities for the plant

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing technical role in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, valid Driver's License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of ethernet IP protocols, IP addressing & subnets, AD (Group Policy) credentials for server configuration, MODBUS, familiarity with scripting and automation (VB scripting and SQL)
  • Demonstrated track record of performance in process improvement
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills and demonstrated ability to define and achieve goals
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team in the manufacturing organization

Work location: Clinton, TN.
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
