Role Overview
The Logistics Analyst Summer Intern will support the Logistics Center of Excellence team in advancing global transportation and warehousing strategies through data analysis, procurement event support, scenario modeling, and continuous improvement. This role is designed for a highly analytical, curious, and collaborative student who is interested in supply chain, logistics, procurement, and digital transformation.
The intern will work with regional logistics, field, supply chain, procurement, operations, and finance stakeholders to help improve cost visibility, strengthen sourcing outcomes, quantify value creation, and identify opportunities to optimize end-to-end material flows.
Key Responsibilities
RFP Development and Facilitation
  • Support the development and facilitation of transportation and warehousing RFPs across global regions.
  • Assist regional teams in validating inputs to and outputs from procurement events, including lane data, volume assumptions, service requirements, rate structures, and award recommendations.
  • Manage data and requirements templates that ensure alignment across regional stakeholders, procurement teams, logistics leaders, and operating teams.
  • Pressure test and verify procurement event results to confirm accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Develop tools and reporting approaches to quantify value after implementation, including cost savings, service impacts, and compliance to awarded strategies.

Impact Analysis and Scenario Development
  • Support regional teams in quantifying the impact of off-cycle changes across all modes of transportation and warehousing.
  • Analyze cost, service, capacity, supplier, and operational impacts associated with changes to logistics networks, carrier selections, warehousing models, or transportation requirements.
  • Develop alternative scenarios to minimize unfavorable impacts while maintaining business continuity and service expectations.
  • Document required process, supplier, stakeholder, or system changes needed to implement alternative scenarios effectively.

AI Tools, Reporting, and Carrier Optimization
  • Create AI-enabled tools and reports that leverage available data across regions to assess opportunities to optimize carrier selection across transportation modes.
  • Compile, cleanse, and analyze data from regional logistics, procurement, payables, finance, and operations sources to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Build dashboards, templates, or analytical models that improve visibility to logistics spend, carrier performance, implementation progress, and value capture.

Continuous Improvement Opportunity Identification
  • Leverage site visits across regions to understand logistics process flows, stakeholder pain points, and opportunities to reduce cost or improve service.
  • Collaborate with field, supply chain, operations, procurement, finance, and logistics stakeholders to identify opportunities that add value across end-to-end material flows.
  • Support the development and implementation of programs to track the value of procurement savings and productivity initiatives across regions.
  • Use available payables data to connect initiative value to measurable P&L impact.
  • Prepare concise summaries, recommendations, and progress updates for leadership reviews and regional working sessions.

Education
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations, business analytics, industrial engineering, data analytics, finance, or a related field.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large data sets and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, Power Query, Python, SQL, or other analytics tools is preferred.
  • Interest in artificial intelligence, automation, digital tools, and their application to supply chain and logistics decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and regional stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from both data and direct site engagement.

Internship Learning Outcomes
  • Hands-on exposure to global logistics strategy, transportation sourcing, warehousing operations, and supplier management.
  • Practical experience supporting RFP events, procurement analytics, value tracking, and logistics impact assessments.
  • Experience using data and emerging AI tools to solve real business problems and improve decision-making.
  • Opportunities to collaborate across regions and functions while building executive-ready communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of how logistics savings and productivity initiatives connect to operational performance and P&L impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is data-driven, resourceful, and comfortable moving between analysis, stakeholder engagement, and practical implementation. This individual should be eager to learn how logistics decisions are made across regions and motivated to create tools, insights, and processes that improve cost, service, visibility, and value capture.
